Welcome From Ian Francis, Independent Financial Adviser

As independent financial advisers, what we do well is provide high quality financial advice. We can access a diverse range of strategies and products, generating better insights, better decisions, better outcomes, for you. We are consistently seeking the brightest opportunities from the whole market place, as a truly independent financial adviser.

As independent financial advisers we provide individuals and businesses with advice on practical and relevant solutions to help them to meet their financial objectives. Some of the key areas we advise on are listed below. Of course, we’ll be happy to discuss your own personal situation and goals with you.

We arrange our meetings, usually in the comfort of your own home or office, at a time that suits you. Just give us a call and we are happy to do our best to help!

Our mortgage advice service covers first time buyers, remortgagers, home movers and buy to let landlords. We are  also very experienced in providing advice for self builders, renovators, converters and refurbishers.

As independent financial advisers, our services range from secured mortgages, bridging loans, second charge mortgages and so much more! We search across the entire market place, unrestricted. With so many deals and costs to choose from its easy to get a headache about whether you have found the best deal. Why not see if we can find a solution for you.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Financial products are sometimes at their most useful when they are protecting our families, our incomes or our property. Getting sound advice from an independent financial adviser can save hundreds of pounds, making sure you have the right tailor-made solution for you.

Whilst insuring ourselves against an undesirable event such as sickness or even death may not be a pleasant thing to think about, the benefit of being able to set financial issues aside at emotionally difficult times cannot be overlooked. There is a large range of products for most circumstances, and most budgets, but a good financial adviser will pick out the best for you.

We advise on a wide range of insurances, from protecting against loss of income to protecting loved ones from illness and passing on. We also advise on general insurance such as home and contents insurances.

Investments and Savings

From childhood most of us are told to put away money to save for the future – perhaps for something special; or perhaps to be sure that when we really need something we have the funds to acquire it, without taking on debt. Whether we place your money in a piggy bank, or in a multinational investment house, our aims are broadly the same; to provide for our future needs, and to protect ourselves against unexpected causes of expenditure.

Investments are designed to be held for a longer term, usually at least 5 years. You need to be comfortable with tying up this money for a period of time, and should not consider investments unless you have some savings in place. Returns, risk and volatility are the factors that will determine a suitable place for your money.

There are lots of investment plans and policies to choose from with a range of investment styles to choose from for all circumstances. As independent financial advisers, we can provide advice on investment strategies and funds across the wide range of products, platforms and funds that are available, unrestricted.

The value of investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Equity Release and Retirement Interest Only (RIO) Mortgages

As people get older their thoughts turn to supplementing their income or paying for things that they don't have ready money for. For some, the need to switch mortgages to something that lasts into retirement, has become important.

Our independent financial adviser can provide impartial advice on your equity release options and, if its the right thing for you, available solutions, in the comfort of your own home. if its not right for you he will tell you and talk through possible alternatives.

Equity Release will reduce the value of your estate and can affect your eligibility for means tested benefits.

RIO mortgages are now available for those over 55 - but they are not Equity Release plans and have restrictive affordability conditions, so our independent financial adviser can give lots of advice around your potential options.

Care Fees and Later Life Planning

When we need more help, whether in our own home or in a care home, we face the inevitable question of costs. Our independent financial adviser is able to review your options for the future, aiming to give you (and possibly your family) reassurance about such decisions concerning care fees.

We can guide you on annuities, investments, equity release, Wills, trusts, and powers of attorney (enduring powers and lasting powers), as well as probate administration.

Our independent financial adviser will aim to answer your questions and help arrange suitable solutions.

The value of investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Retirement Funding, Investment Reviews, Pension Pot Consolidation, Advice on Taking Capital and Income

Our advice service includes reviewing your plans and options, giving you the later-life style you deserve.

We want you to avoid taking unnecessary risks from losing your hard-earned savings in the run up to retirement because of unlucky investment decisions. Thanks to increased longevity and the demise of pension guarantees such as final salary pensions and annuities, people are at an increased risk of running out of money in retirement. We can guide you on pension funds, annuities and other choices to give you the right balance of income and capital during your retirement.

So what can we do as independent financial advisers?

  1. Manage expectations on how much income might be expected. While it’s impossible to predict the future, you can also factor in likely future events, such as paying for a wedding or university fees, and allow for any unexpected expenses.
  2. Help understand capacity for loss. Understanding attitude to risk is not as simple in the decumulation phase as the accumulation phase. Being risk averse could leave a danger of not being able to sustain income levels over time or suffering large irrevocable losses through investment under performance. Equally, too much risk, leaves a fund open to volatility and sequencing issues.
  3. Ensure recommendations are cost appropriate. All costs are clearly documented and included within any income modelling.
  4. Offer regular income reviews. Every individual in retirement has evolving needs. These needs can change gradually over time, or they could change in an instant. Our reviews help address all your changing circumstances and requirements.

Pensions are a long term investment. You may get back less than you put in. Pensions can be and are subject to tax and regulatory change; therefore the tax treatment of pension benefits can and may change in the future.

Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Inheritance Tax Planning

Our advice service includes reviewing your options for leaving your estate to your loved-ones and just as importantly, looking after yourself should you be unable to.

Our independent financial adviser can guide you on Wills, trusts, LPAs, and inheritance tax planning.

The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate estate planning.

Business Planning

Whether in a partnership, or in a limited company; we advise on insurances, protecting ownership and pension schemes.

There's an enormous market of insurers with competitive deals, so a thorough search can save considerable sums.

If you have a business loan, we can also advise on protecting that loan, specifically for firms.

Self Employed Business Planning

When your self employed we advise on pensions, mortgages, investments, insurances, and protecting the business in the vent of ownership ill-health or death.

We have a wealth of experience to offer self employed business owners, since that's how we started ourselves, many years ago. Our aim is to make financial planning a calm oasis, giving you confidence you are well planned and getting great value for money.
