Are you looking for good advice about insurance?

We all seem to fully understand the need for something like car insurance. Nobody I've ever met has suggested it would be better to put aside their annual car insurance premium and use those savings to pay for a new car should theirs be stolen or crashed. Similarly, if someone has been caught speeding, for example, it's accepted that the car insurance premium is likely to go up. You choose to exceed the speed limit or buy a sports car.

You don't choose to get cancer, other serious illnesses, die or have a serious accident. There are lots of types of insurance you could have, starting with plain “life insurance” which just covers you in the event of death. There’s a second type of insurance called “critical illness insurance” which covers you for serious illnesses such as cancer, heart attacks etc. Then there is a third type of insurance called “income protection”, which does what it says, it pays out a monthly sum if you are off work for a long time due to illness or injury.

Most people start by taking out life and critical illness cover for their main liability – the mortgage – so that, for example, their partner can continue to live there mortgage-free, or that both can continue to live there mortgage-free if one of them gets a critical illness, that would otherwise stop them working – the mortgage usually being the biggest monthly bill.

Don't leave your family behind with even more to worry about

When you do have to leave your family behind are you going to just leave them with heartache and emotional stress?

Putting one of the most basic pieces of Insurance in place to protect your family after you're gone should be at the top of your to-do list.

Life Insurance means that you can be sure that your family can continue to live the life they're used to and, more importantly, deserve when you leave.

Getting the price right

Our insurance advice is independent, so we can search across all insurance companies to see if there are cheaper policies for you.

Chestnut Financial Services has access to insurers that don't feature on comparison websites - we can search across the whole market without tying up your time.

We examine underneath headline prices and details to find the best deals that are right for you.

Let us help by taking away the hassle of administration, saving you time, and helping with any claim you need to make.

Using Comparison Sites

Comparison sites can seriously trip you up by under-insuring, so you run the risk of much lower payouts, just when you need them the most.

What our clients have said

"Ian's advice has been great. He originally helped us with our mortgage but stayed in touch to sort out the insurances we needed to be protected.

We have such peace of mind knowing it has been done properly (I always used to pick the cheapest, not knowing what little I was insured for in reality).

Better than that, we recently needed to sort out a claim for my husband's illness, and yet again, Ian was there helping take care of everything. He is a real friend of the family".

Important Information

These types of policies usually have no cash in value at any time and will cease at the end of the term. If premiums are not maintained, then cover will lapse.

Always read the policy documents to understand exactly what is and isn't covered.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
